AVID emphasizes writing in all subjects that focuses on clarifying and communicating thoughts and understanding material.Emphasis on Inquiry. Activities, from Cornell note taking to tutorial groups, are built around asking questions, clarifying, analyzing, and synthesizing information.A Collaborative approach. Students are responsible for learning. Teachers, tutors, and students challenge, support, and learn from one another.Critical Reading. AVID students don't merely read words on a page.
